Hebrews 12: 25-28

Haggai 2: 6

Galatians 3: 3

Numbers 16: 1-35, 25: 1-9

Spiritual realities and the realm of the Kingdom of God were not ‘fully’ realized until Jesus came to establish His ministry. Not that spiritual influences did not exist, or that demons and such were not known about, or active in the lives of men. For the patriarchs of the faith and true men of God surely understood that God was Spirit, and His faithful followers understood much, yet when Jesus entered the scene spiritual awareness increased. The knowledge of Jehovah and His commandments were revealed in the Torah, and spoken of by the Hebrews. Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, and the prophets, all revealed God through earthly verbal means.

Hebrews 12: 25. “See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him, (Moses), who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven.

There are many examples of rebellious men in scripture whom God removed from the assembly to spare the rest of Israel. Numbers 16: 1-35, Korah, the son of Izhar, rebelled against Moses leadership, then God opened the earth to swallow them into Sheol. Numbers 25: 1-9 Tells of the Israelites who worshipped Baal of Peor, bowing to this god of Moab, were silenced by God with a plague that killed all who rebelled.

Hebrews 12: 26. “And His, (God’s), voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.’ (Haggai 2: 6)

Since the introduction of Jesus Christ’s ministry, and the opportunity for a spiritual rebirth, a walk with God, and the filling of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, there now is no viable reason to not continue in that awakening. Galatians 3: 3 “Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit are you now being perfected in the flesh?”

God shook the earth when He gave the commandments to Moses, to expose His authority, and His power, giving the demand for holiness, which no man in the flesh could attain. With the first Advent of Jesus we now have the Spiritual power to attain holiness, by the Holy Spirit. At the second Advent of Jesus, God will shake the heavens and the earth, creating an eternal estate for those who have truly believed in Him.
