Psalm 33

Synonymous with the holiday season is that of busy lives.  Many feel out of control during the holidays for many reasons.  We rarely take time to “sing joyfully to the Lord” now do we?  While we know that God’s power and presence are much larger than anything we have to do at Christmas, sometimes, it is very hard for many to believe.

In order to stand and sing to the Lord or to rejoice in God’s unfailing love requires us to slow down and live not only in the celebration of the First Advent but to wait patiently with anticipation God’s Second Advent all the while walking faithfully and firmly on a foundation of God’s Word – his word that is perfect.  Without his word and love, we have no hope.

So, cast aside for a few moments the busyness of the holiday season and immerse yourself in God’s word as “we wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield…May your unfailing love be with us, Lordeven as we put our hope in you.”  Amen.
